Mombasa Branch holds AGM
The IEK Mombasa Branch held its Annual General Meeting on 18 March 2005 at Mombasa Club.

The Chairman in his report listed the functions that the Branch had hosted during the year including visits to Corrugated Iron Sheet, KenGen’s Kipevu Power Station, Kenya Petroleum Refineries and talks by the Commissioner of Mines and Geology and by the Department of Occupational Health and Safety.

He reported that the Branch had carried out major renovation to its office at a cost of approximately Sh 50,000/-. He also stated that the Branch remain committed to its long-term goal of establishing a professional centre in Mombasa.

The Chairman mentioned that members of the IEK Council accompanied by a few engineers had visited Mombasa in December 2004 when a Council Meeting was held and visits arranged to Kenya Ports Authority and EA Environment Management Company. During the visit KenGen hosted a dinner at Nyali Beach Hotel.
